These custom cast portraits consist of the bacteria strain Exophiala. Naturally black in color, it causes severe breathing complications in immune-suppressed individuals. The bacteria are non-viable and sealed in solid resin, 47cm in diameter and 3cm thick.
Two portraits are completed - George Floyd and Breonna Taylor, and six additional are planned.
